Developing confidence and skills for the wider world through a professional and hands on approach

Approach

We are incredibly proud to offer our children and young people the opportunity to work towards accredited qualifications and awards. Our aim is to equip them with the confidence, resilience and practical skills they need for life beyond 16, whether that leads to college, apprenticeships, further learning, or the development of essential functional skills.

Our young people learn to:

Build portfolios of work to support & celebrate their on going educational journey.
Work towards accredited qualifications in a range of subjects, including core curriculum areas, animal care and Land Management to name a few.
Develop valuable life skills through practical experience such as cookery & budgeting.
To take part in programmes of study that encourage leadership, resiliance and perseverance.

All led by qualified teachers.

The Arts Award

Approach

We are an approved and validated Arts Award centre with a trained member of staff qualified to carry out the awards. Our young people will have the opportunity to further develop their creativity by working towards an accredited Arts Award at a level that suits their individual needs and interests, whether that means exploring and discovering creative expression or progressing towards GCSE-level study. Our young people can gain a recognised qualification while developing and refining their artistic skills. Along the way, they are encouraged to reflect, problem-solve, and grow in confidence. The Arts Award promotes independence, flexibility and a deeper appreciation of a wide range of art forms, with learning that is led by each young person, allowing us to tailor sessions to their unique strengths, interests and aspirations.

Impact:

The recognised qualification is flexible and personable to each young person.
Supports post 16 provision and college.
A range of transferable skills are learnt along the way such as communication & teamwork.
Problem-solving and decision-making skill development

ASDAN Qualifications

Approach

Our young people have the opportunity to work towards ASDAN qualifications, building a portfolio of work alongside the support of our qualified staff. We currently offer courses in areas such as Animal Care, Science, Living Independently and Land Management, with additional options including Cooking, Core Subjects, History and Geography. These qualifications provide meaningful opportunities for our young people to develop practical knowledge, build confidence and work towards recognised achievements that support their future pathways.

These courses help our young people recognise their potential, work at a pace that suits them and pursue subjects that reflect their individual interests and strengths. Building a portfolio of work gives them a real sense of achievement and pride in their progress. ASDAN courses offer valuable flexibility, with a supportive approach that removes unnecessary pressure, demands, or strict time constraints, making them particularly well suited to the needs of our young people.
