Outdoor sessions
Our young people are supported by qualified staff and given exciting opportunities to develop practical skills and a deeper understanding of the natural world. They learn map reading and navigation skills, with opportunities to take part in orienteering both on site and in wider outdoor settings. Through bird ringing demonstrations led by our trained staff member, they gain a fascinating insight into how the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) monitors bird populations, helping with data recording and using their geography skills to explore migration patterns. Other inspiring experiences include setting daily moth and small mammal traps, as well as off-site learning adventures such as rock pooling, where curiosity, discovery, and hands-on learning come to life.
