Our Approach
Our Art and Design curriculum has been guided by the Department for Education’s Art and Design Programmes of Study which recognise that “art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity.” We have then personalised our curriculum enabling us to not only cover National Curriculum outcomes but to also offer our young people engaging and adaptable experiences that inspire curiosity and freedom.
Our young people are encouraged to experiment and create in ways that feel meaningful and achievable.

We are extremely proud of our dedicated Art and Design space where our young people have access to a range of high quality professional equipment and design software. As our young people become familiar with the software and the capabilities of the professional machines, we can see clear progression in their work: from starting with ready-made projects to eventually creating their own designs from scratch. Our young people can then experiment with applying their designs to a range of surfaces and materials, exploring how digital ideas can be transformed into physical outcomes in creative and practical ways.
